We have a pomegranate tree and two Pitango trees. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea what a Pitango tree was. They are a bit smaller than cherries and their taste ranges from tart to very sweet. Unlike cherries, they hang very delicately.
My son's face was smeared with the cherry like juice. How could I not resist sitting under the Pitango tree? Ideas seem so insignificant from the lowest tier, but from underneath, there were many dark maroon pitangoes absorbing the first heat of the sun and my mind saw a huge wide world.
From experience, I know now which Pitangoes are sweeter and which reds I'll wait a day or two until they become the luscious sweetness that I prefer. But my son doesn't seem to mind which he eats. And I watch him and from then on, ideas flow naturally.
I love writing close to nature like this. Especially on a mid Saturday morning.

I can write pretty much anywhere, but I need silence. I need to be able to hear the voices of the book in my head as I write. Sadly, as a homeschooling mother of four I very rarely find that silence. But I grab it every now and then. Good luck with all your writing endeavors.
