Taking a Break From Bureaucracy

Well actually, not really a break but just a nose dive into something much more pleasurable. I had no idea that I would expending my energies so into getting this book writing project approved by the Ministry of Education so that I would be able to write full time next year. I am far from giving up only it doesn't have to be the only worthwhile thing at the moment.

For a month now I've been collecting valuable information from the Non-fiction writing for children yahoo group. The writers there give invaluable and informative links and advice. I couldn't have landed on a better group. From there, I created a profile at jacketflap.com, which has the most extensive list of children's' book packagers.

I was going to go to Tel-Aviv this past Wednesday for a SCWBI chapter meeting and see what that was all about, but at the last minute I decided that the 3.5 hour trip wasn't in my favor with my husband now working longer hours at nights.

I was so happy to stumble upon the Milk and Honey Press site (link to the right of this blog) since it appeals to readership on or about Israel. I started writing last week a small reader about kibbutz life. I hope I'm in the right direction being that I've never actually taken a course on children's' writing but I'm writing intuitively.
I figured it was about time I wrote something about kibbutz life, since I've been living on one for almost half my life.

So what writing projects are you pursuing now? How do you manage to combine writing with other difficult periods in your life?
