When Writing Can Open Another Door

Working in the system as a teacher is draining but lately I've found a way to make writing a more central part of my life or at least for the upcoming school year. As I may have written before, I'll be on sabbatical. I applied for a TESOL with a concentration on writing and publishing from the New School but unfortunately, they do not have enough participants.

So I looked for a supervisor for this book writing project on how to close the gap between elementary and junior high school. It is very reflective of my eleven year journey as a teacher. I am happy to announce that I did find a supervisor for this project, so there is just a bit of paperwork involved in getting it all approved. But I hope it will work out all in the end.

How do you feel and cope when you are trying to wing a potentially wonderful writing opportunity and you have yet your doubts lingering?

I hope there will be enough inner strength to help find my way.

Congratulations on finding a place for your writing project!
Yes, the doubts linger! I've worked most of this year on a writing project that does not yet have a publisher (it's been turned down once and I now have a proposal for it with 3 other publishers). How do I cope? I keep working on it, because it has been set before me to finish for a teacher who is using it in her class. I also find other things to work on at the same time. I keep hoping that someone will want this project.

I think having doubts is half of being a writer. I'm always wondering if it's good enough or the right thing or whatever.
