Writier Dilemmas: What to Write Now or what to finish first?

I have an hour before my son wakes up. This hour is precious especially on a Saturday. It is the time when I find my own inner strength and write instead of sleeping in. This morning was easy; I slided out of bed because I knew there was something waiting for me and anxiously I went to the computer.

I find the inner strength to proceed from one piece to another. This means writing, writing and editing.Last night I was working late on a YA fiction story and here I am this morning, thinking about that book proposal for Mc-Graw I need to hone and sharpen.

Part of me scramps and runs around for time. It is never enough. When I learn to think of school as being something less of an incidental event, I probably will be less anxious about trying to balance school , writing and motherhood.

I know that if I can get up early and write during that hour or two hours before the kids get up I'll feel better and everything will be better. However, finding the discipline to do that can be soooo hard.
